Obsession.

It was a simple assignment. Write an article about Val, the newest DJ on the scene. Behind his decks, he glows. Val doesn’t play music, he shapes it, radiates it. I’m not the only person obsessed with him. And when I save him from an attacker, he rewards me with a kiss.

Addiction.

It’s careless, maybe, two men living together in 1995. We’re risking our jobs. But I’m as addicted to Val as he is to the pills and powders he uses to silence his ghosts.

Sanity.

Walking away was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but we’d become toxic. My life is good—I have a daughter and a satisfying career. There isn’t time to miss Val, even if he visits my dreams nightly.

Love.

It was just a chance meeting in the grocery store. Val looks healthy. Clean. And the old fire flairs hot between us. This could be our second chance at love, but are we risking everything we’ve overcome to be together again?

Headphones Trilogy

All Jessie wants is a warm place to rest. The last person she expects to find in the college bar is the reclusive Micky Shane, former singer of Freewheel, disbanded after the death of their lead guitarist. Adopted by the members of his new band and his friends from The House, a group of now-in-their-30s college buddies, she has a chance to heal from the trauma that took away her voice and forced her to run, while she breaks them from the mundanity of their own lives.
Mick Garrett walked away from the glamour of his Rock Star life when he lost his best friend to a drug-overdose, eventually settling in the small college town with a different name. He can’t claim to be happy, but he’s content in his anonymity. The young woman he nicknamed Headphones sparks something in him he believed he’d lost. With renewed energy, maybe he’s ready to step into the world again.

In From the Cold is the first of the trilogy that chronicles Headphones’ one-year journey as she and her found-family's lives interweave. Five different relationships, five different romances, with a happy-ever-after guaranteed in the final book.
