After an amicable breakup, Charles “Cherry” Andrews’ ex left him the couch, the bed, and the camping equipment. Replacing the noises of St. Louis with crickets and birdsong at his favorite campground feels like the perfect vacation. He’d hoped to prove to himself that he’s fine on his own, but instead of finding inner-peace, he’s simply bored. His evening becomes instantly more interesting when a gorgeous guy with a loud motorcycle pulls into the neighboring campsite.

Ben Torres hopes that a cross-country motorcycle tour will help him find his own peace after his mother’s recent death, but a faulty tailpipe curtails his plans within hours of leaving home. Luckily for him, the cute redhead in the next camp spot happily shares his fishing equipment as well as offering taxi service during a week-long search for parts.

An unexpected kiss on their last day together leads to an afternoon of discovery that turns into a summer romance that in turn becomes a long distance relationship in the fall. Everything would be wonderful if they could spend the rest of their lives in a tent by a lake. But Cherry’s overly involved ex-boyfriend sticks his nose where it isn’t wanted and Ben’s 17-year-old son has a hard time accepting his father’s bisexuality. Two-hundred miles may be the least of the challenges they face.

Couch-surfing is fine for the short term, but what Vaughn really needs is a roommate.

Vaughn’s future was mapped out: Attend college in St. Louis. Become a Physical Therapist. Come out to his ultra-religious family-- after he’s financially stable and probably 40 years old. But that was before he got caught with the pool-boy. Now he has to make new plans, quickly.

A small-town mechanic from Indiana, Daryl has never met anyone like Vaughn. He’s instantly fascinated by the tall college student in the skinny jeans and open-backed shirt. Vaughn is funny, intelligent—and wears silk underwear. Daryl is instantly smitten.

A temporary job offer moves Daryl to the city and solves Vaughn’s roommate problem. But while their former long-distance friendship has the potential to turn into something more, Vaughn fears he’ll end up heartbroken when Daryl moves back to Indiana. The spark between them glows brighter, but will it be smothered before it has a chance to truly ignite?

Lindsey watched her brother fall in love with his perfect man and she was there when her best friend found his. And she’s truly happy for them. But she doesn’t want it for herself.

It seems society expects women to want romance and monogamy, but Lindsey Andrews has no desire for either of these things—she’s quite happy with the occasional hookup. Besides, working towards her Doctorate takes up most of her time. Just because the new maintenance man has broad shoulders and looks good in tight jeans doesn’t mean she’s going to start dreaming of wedding bells.

For ranch-hand Brian Ashton, the job offer as a maintenance manager for an apartment complex in Missouri couldn’t have come at a better time. He needed to get away from Wyoming, but trading the wide-open sky for the tall buildings and traffic of St. Louis holds its own challenges.  Meeting the caustic, green-haired Lindsey only adds to his stress. But it isn’t all bad, because she needs a fake boyfriend for a camping trip and he needs fresh air.

Neither of them expect the weekend to change everything.

All Jessie wants is a warm place to rest. The last person she expects to find in the college bar is the reclusive Micky Shane, former singer of Freewheel, disbanded after the death of their lead guitarist. Adopted by the members of his new band and his friends from The House, she has a chance to heal from the trauma that took away her voice and forced her to run, while she breaks them from the mundanity of their own lives.

Mick Garrett walked away from the glamour of his Rock Star life when he lost his best friend to a drug-overdose, eventually settling in the small college town with a different name. He can’t claim to be happy, but he’s content in his anonymity. The young woman he nicknamed Headphones sparks something in him he believed he’d lost. With renewed energy, maybe he’s ready to step into the world again.

Love happens when we least expect it. Headphones fears she’ll lose herself again when Mick gets hurt during a robbery gone wrong, but instead, she finds renewed purpose even as her voice comes back.

Keyboardist Jay Montgomery's crush on ex-Marine Scoey Watson hasn’t faded, as he’d hoped. Instead, it’s growing stronger as supposedly straight Scoey gives him mixed signals. Headphones, the girl who sees everything, tells Jay to not give up hope. Maybe it's advice they both need.

Sunshine Smile is the second book of the trilogy that chronicles Headphones’ one-year journey as she and her found-family's lives interweave. Five different relationships, five different romances, with a happy-ever-after guaranteed in the final book.

Scoey Watson had to tear down every perception he held of himself to finally admit his love for Jay, and for the first time in a long time, he’s happy. But that happiness is threatened by the last person he would have ever suspected.

Annalise is determined to further her career by getting close to Mick. She’s convinced partnering with the former lead singer of Freewheel will give her the notoriety that she craves. In her monomania, she's focused on Jay and perceives his relationship with Scoey as a threat. Headphones senses Annalise’s animosity, not only to the two men that she has come to love as brothers but to several members of Blue Mick and her found family at The House. But she has a secret weapon!

Fall Out is the third and final book of the trilogy that chronicles Headphones’ one-year journey as she and her found family's lives interweave. Five different relationships, five different romances, with a happy-ever-after for everyone-- well, almost everyone.
